A Father’s Legacy | Pastor Joel Rainey | Covenant Church
Fatherhood often comes with unseen pressures, quiet sacrifices, and the lingering question, “Am I doing enough?” In this Father’s Day message, dads are reminded that the legacy they leave behind isn’t found in possessions, achievements, or even perfect parenting—it’s found in the faith, values, and example they pass to the next generation.
Drawing from Joshua 4, Pastor Joel challenges fathers to intentionally leave “memorial stones” that point their children toward a passionate love for God, a commitment to His Word, compassion for the people God loves, and the courage to faithfully navigate a changing world.
The goal isn’t simply to raise successful children, but to raise future disciples who will influence their generation for Christ. Long after a father is gone, the question his children will ask is, “What did his life mean?” The greatest legacy is a life that clearly points them to Jesus. Let’s listen in.
